Note
The Quran presents a challenge (tahaddī) by claiming that nothing similar to the Quran can be produced. The arguments for this topic are traditionally interpreted as layers of literature and meaning. This article, however, offers a different perspective on the topic, claiming that “the symmetrical structure of the Quranic text, by virtue of its inimitable nature, serves as an additional argument for the tahaddī”. The article takes three Mushafs (the Alifī, Husrev, and Hunsarī Mushafs) as the basis for evidence of this claim. As a method, the article examines whether these three Mushafs possess a “superior symmetric/ordered structure” and demonstrates this through sample pages. In the research conducted on the sample set, it is shown whether the internal arrangements within the Mushafs function simultaneously. Symmetry/order was observed in the pages of all three Mushafs (99.97%, 99.83%, and 93.21%). The findings demonstrate that the Quran is not only a structure to be “read” but also one to be “seen”. In the discussion section, the topic is interpreted through questions and answers. In the conclusion section of the article, the decision whether the symmetry/order claim constitutes a “tahaddī argument” is left to the reader.
